exhausted and wanted to stay in) went to meet steve's friend Lucas to
watch the USA vs. Brazil soccer match. We found an English pub where
everyone in there spoke English! That was where the fun stopped. After
going up by a magnificent 2-0 lead, we gave the game to Brazil by
giving up 3 (arguably 4) goals in the second half. So Angela and I
left on our journey to the Eiffel tower at about 10:30pm. We hopped on
a couple of subways and walked for a while through the 7th district by
the river and made it to the tower. The line was short, no more than
20 minutes wait and up we went! It was beautiful with the tower lit up
at night and we spent quite a while up there enjoying the view and the
love that was filling every couple's hearts. We took some cool
pictures, and had about 10 different attempts to get us kissing with
the Paris night in the backround (I definitely wasn't complaining
about all the tries!!). We had an interesting subway experience on the
way back. There was no ticket sale kiosk so people were literally
jumping over the gates and piling three or four people through per
ticket. Not giving up, we walked around the terminal and found a
kiosk, and we purchased and rode legally :) and with clean conciences.
We got home around 1:00 and were hoping to get up at 8am to start our
tourist day the next day...
